Kyle Hart will enter his second season as Augustana's head lacrosse coach in the 2012-13 school year, after leading the Vikings to an 8-6 record in the schools inaugural season of varsity lacrosse. In Hart's first year on the job, defense became the Vikings calling card, ranking in the top five in the country for scoring defense most of the year.

In 14 games during the 2012 season, the Vikings gave up just 72 goals for an average of 5.14 per game, good for third in the nation. They pitched two shutouts and held eight opponents to five goals or less over the course of the season. As a team the Vikings ranked 35th in scoring margin. Augustana averaged 8.79 goals per game and gave up 5.14 for a scoring margin of 3.64.

Hart spent three seasons as the assistant coach at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania before being assuming the position at Augustana in the summer of 2010 to lead the start-up program.

Hart, who graduated from Muhlenberg in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies with concentrations in global trade and international business. He was twice selected to the all-conference team in the Centennial Conference and was Muhlenberg's first ever all-conference selection. He was twice elected team captain and he came to Muhlenberg after a successful high school career at Massapequa High School on Long Island where he was a two time all-county selection.

He assumed the assistant coaching position at Muhlenberg after graduation and he worked in a variety of aspects for that job. He also served as the recruiting coordinator and worked as game manager and athletic facility monitor.
