How can we help you?

Augustana College is very intentional in its effort to foster an environment that encourages innovative ideas as well as experimentation with proven techniques in the pursuit of improved teaching and learning. Technology plays an ever-increasing role in this effort. The office of Information Technology Services enjoys the responsibility of providing quality technical support services to the Augustana community.

Our services touch all members of the college community from potential students, faculty and staff to alumni, faculty emeritus and trustees. Our technical support extends from cable television hookup to wireless on-line course registration, covering most things in between. With such a wide spectrum of support responsibility, a common understanding of the type of support services are offered by ITS, in addition to priorities associated with those services, is critical to successfully responding to the campus initiatives.

The following guidelines should be helpful towards clarifying personal, departmental and institutional support expectations:

  • Expertise – All areas of ITS are committed to providing a complete support package including training, troubleshooting, maintenance and security when possible. Institutional software and hardware are in this category.
  • Departmental support – Individuals or groups within the ITS department are familiar with the general operation and support requirements; however additional research time may be necessary for satisfactory solution. Software or hardware specific to an individual department or applications supported through an outside vendor typically fall under this category.
  • General support – ITS will work to problem solve with the resources available. Personally owned computers and accessories, cell phones/smart devices, gaming system platforms, televisions would fall under this level of support.

The ITS department will continuously update the list of supported services. The current categories and listings are by no means meant to be “all inclusive” or without exception. ITS, of course, recognizes technology and the use of technology here at Augustana advances rapidly. This information provided here is to offer a guideline towards support expectations.
