Buying meals on campus: FAQ for students

How much do meals cost at The Gerber Center for Student Life (CSL) Dining Room?
Many students will purchase meal plans to eat in the CSL. Anyone who does not have meal plans will be charged $8.00 for breakfast, $9.00 for lunch and $11.25 for dinner. To purchase only a cup of coffee, a soft drink or a single item (like a cookie or piece of fruit), students should visit the Brew by the Slough or the Snack Bar at the College Center.
Is carryout available at the CSL Dining Room? Does it cost extra?
A carryout meal is the same price as a sit-down meal. Students who purchase a meal plan can pick up a free reusable Dining Services to-go meal container and cup. Bring the container back the next time you dine, and you will be given a clean container at no charge. The container must be able to close when you leave the Dining Room, and washing their cup is the responsibility of students. To support sustainability and save costs, this is a no-paper facility.
What are Viking Bucks and where can they be used?
Many meal plans include Viking Bucks. Viking Bucks can be used to buy food and drinks at any dining venue on campus. This includes the CSL, Brew by the Slough, Westerlin C-store, Snack Bar at the College Center, and concessions at the football stadium.
Do I have to use Viking Bucks to buy meals?
No, anyone can use cash, credit or debit to purchase meals at any dining venue on campus.
How do I re-load Viking Bucks?
Visit the new Dining Services offices on the fifth floor of The Gerber CSL to purchase Viking Bucks. The money will go on your Augustana ID card. To purchase a meal, you swipe your card and the cost will be deducted from your balance.
Can I get a refund for Viking Bucks I purchased?
No refunds are given.
