DESCRIPTION:Dr. Chris Strunk and students Mackenzie Sullivan\, Hannah Weber and Katie Zenisek will talk about the Quad Cities Project for Pride in Memory\n\nIt is the first in the Tea Talk lecture series this year.\n\nDescription: While big cities have played an outsized role in the spatial imaginaries of queer communities\, academic and popular representations of small towns as oppressive spaces can overlook the presence of thriving and diverse LGBTQ+ communities. In this presentation\, we challenge this binary geography of LGBTQ+ identity and communities through a case study of The Quad Cities Project for Pride in Memory\, a local oral history collaboration that seeks to preserve the memories of LGBTQ+ Quad City seniors.\n\nNow entering its 13th year\, the Tea Talks lecture series&nbsp\;features speakers on a range of topics. The series is sponsored by the&nbsp\;Women\, Gender\, and Sexuality Studies program.\n
