DESCRIPTION:"Two Remain\," a two-act chamber opera\, is based on the true stories of two Holocaust survivors\, conducted by&nbsp\;Ernesto Estigarribia\, Augustana director of orchestral activities.\n\nIn Act I\, Krystyna Żywulska\, assisted by ghosts of Auschwitz\, shares her story of survival with a journalist. In Act II Gad Beck is haunted by his first love\, the poet Manfred Lewin\, who perished in Auschwitz.\n\nThe performance is part of a community-wide project\, Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today\, a Quad Cities community project that includes programming for children and adults to promote dignity\, diversity\, equity\, democratic values\, human rights\, and the power of the human spirit.\n
