DESCRIPTION:Dr. Heather Tafel\, associate professor of political science at Grand Valley State University\, will present the&nbsp\;2018 Stanley Erikson Lecture in Public Affairs\,&nbsp\;"Mythbusting Russia's Reasons for Election Meddling."\n\nShe will discuss&nbsp\;common assumptions about U.S.-Russian relations and how those assumptions often do not reveal the reasons behind the Russian government’s attempts to influence the 2016 election. She also will touch on what she think&nbsp\;are the reasons for Russia’s involvement\, with a view to providing prescriptions as to what can be done going forward.\n\nThis event is sponsored by Augustana's department of political science and made possible through the Stanley Erikson Lectureship Fund.\n
