DESCRIPTION:Dr. Nate Smith '02 will give a special Homecoming lecture\, “Dawn of the Dinosaurs: Evolution and Biogeography of Triassic-Jurassic Dinosaurs from the Paleo-equator to the Poles\," presented by the Department of Geology and the Center for Polar Studies.\n\nDr. Smith conducts paleontological fieldwork in Antarctica\, Argentina\, China and the southwestern and western U.S. He has has made groundbreaking discoveries which have appeared on the cover of the journal Science\, CNN and even in the IMAX movie\, "Dinosaurs Alive!"\n\nHe is associate curator of the Dinosaur Institute at the&nbsp\;Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County\, and is also an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Southern California.\n\n• See "Smith '02 to succeed Hammer in Arctic hunt for dinosaurs"\n
