Don Morrison and choir

The Morrison Challenge

Augustana College will honor the legacy of a beloved director of the Augustana Choir through the Morrison Challenge.

From 1966-1993, Don Morrison served as the director of the choir, shepherding students through their musical journeys and transforming their lives. His rehearsals were as much about music as they were about life. He helped students connect pieces to their own musical and life experiences.

Regardless of a student’s major or musical background, Morrison treated each student and each voice as equally important. His legacy will always be alive in his students and those who they inspire to love music.

The Morrison Challenge seeks to raise $50,000 to name a new choir rehearsal room after Morrison.

Augustana is grateful to lead donors Paul '60 and Patricia '60 Guehler and early challenge supporter Kathy '74 Janicek.

Pledges of support can be given over a period of up to five years.
