Haberfield Vet Hospital is a local Vet clinic and a fully-equipped hospital, with X-Ray equipment on site, radiologist, Operating Theatre and 24hr nursing care. Other services offered include emergency services, boarding, clipping, advice and bird care. The hospital also has a keen sense of community obligation involving itself in pet prep and puppy school.
Why are you participating in the "Augustana in Australia" program?
To experience living and working in Australia and to get internship experience.
What value do you hope to add back to the internship site?
I hope to add my skills in the field of biology, a great work ethic, a new perspective to the workplace, my people skills, and give them a good and valuable worker.
What do you hope to learn on your internship?
I hope to learn the similarities and differences in our cultures, new biological knowledge (especially pertaining to Australia) and how to work with others in a foreign setting.
Where do you plan to travel during your term "down under?"
I plan to travel around the Sydney area, the Blue Mountains, Ularu, and New Zealand's South Island.
What do you anticipate to be the highlight of your experience "down under?"
I think the highlight will be getting to see and experience the Australian landscape.
