London Internships: Big Ben, Parliament,and YOU!!!!

This summer you could be in London, both studying and on an internship in one of the hubs of global business. This program is open to rising juniors and seniors in any field of study (with approval of the department). It is a 6-week program which includes a field-related 3-credit course and 3 credits of 300 level internship in your major field.
This program is open to Augustana and non-Augustana students. Non-Augustana students should contact the Office of International & Off-Campus Programs to inquire about application instructions and credit transfer. Non-Augustana students may apply through February 15th.

Eligibility: This program is open to most majors. Contact Ms. Petersen or Ms. Thompson if you have a question regarding placements in your major field. Due to the desire for high quality placements based on a students' field of study, this program is recommended for students who will complete their sophomore or junior year in the Spring prior to departure.

Academics: The London program includes 3-credits of INTR (Internship) credits from a variety of academic disciplines. Augustana students will coordinate the internship placement with their major department. The program also includes one three-credit course from the following pre-approved options:
Anthropology 210: Popular Culture
Business Admin 363: International Business
Political Science 375: Special Topics
Psychology 213: Child Development
Theatre 410: Special Topics
Cost: Tentative program fee for 2016 is $9,550. A final program fee will be announced by Fall of 2015.
Cost includes: Tuition, accommodations, ground transportation (metro pass), internship placement, full-time staff in London, health and travel insurance.
Cost does not include: Airfare to/from London, meals, the refundable housing damage deposit of $150, fees for the appropriate entry visa to the United Kingdom, or discretionary spending.
Financial aid: As this program occurs in the summer, the college is unable to offer financial assistance in the form of tuition reduction scholarships. This program is Augie Choice and IOP Grant eligible. The $1,000 IOP Grants are competitive and limited in number.
Augie Choice: This program is Augie Choice eligible for all students who have completed 6 terms or 60 credits (junior status) or higher at the time of departure. Transfer students who have also completed 3 terms or 30 credits at Augustana are also eligible for the Augie Choice grant.
Augustana student application process: Students are encouraged to attend the Study Away Fair on campus this October 4th. Each program will also hold informational meetings in October and early November. The online application for this and all 2016-2017 programs will go live in November 2015. Online applications and a $300 deposit are required by January 15, 2016 in order for full consideration. If the program is overenrolled a selection process based on academic year and GPA will be utilized to select the participants and a short alternate list. If a program has vacancies after the January deadline, late applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
Non-Augustana student application process: Students from other universities and colleges within the United States are eligible to participate in this program. Please contact the Director of International & Off-Campus Programs at Augustana for application materials. Non-Augustana students must apply to both the specific summer program and to Augustana College for admission as a summer-only student.
