International students and students who live more than five hours away also have the option to interview by Skype or phone. You are strongly encouraged to complete the honors interview on campus, if you haven’t yet visited. Please directly contact honors interview coordinator Wendy Kelley, 309-794-7734, to arrange an interview from off-campus.

The interview

An interview with an Augustana faculty member will complete your Austin E. Knowlton Honors Program application, and provide you a better sense of the honors experience at Augustana. Interviews provide an opportunity for you to interact with the professors who may be teaching you in the honors program.

Writing sample

Please tell us about a book, preferably not one assigned in a class, that has had a profound impact on your life or way of thinking. How did this book contribute to some change in your outlook? (1-2 pages, double-spaced)

Visit confirmation

After submitting the Honors application, you will receive an honors visit confirmation email detailing the time and date of your honors visit. You will also receive an email confirming your overall admissions visit from our campus visit coordinators.

Selection notification

We will send a letter informing you if you have been selected for Logos or Foundations in April.
