Deadlines for Course Approval
In order for courses to be available for students at registration, faculty should submit the necessary proposal forms by the following deadlines. These deadlines ensure time for the course to be approved by faculty governance. (For more information about how courses move through faculty governance, see the course approval process.)
NOTE: These deadlines are for proposals previously approved by the appropriate department and division (if required).
Deadline for submission of AGES courses (FYI and suffixed courses, courses with LP designations, and LCs): by noon on Monday of the first week of the term preceding the term the course will be offered.
For Learning Community status, submit the Learning Community Proposal Form.
For an LP designation, submit the appropriate Perspectives on/of … form (See Proposal Forms).
For a Suffix designation (Global, Diversity, Investigative Lab, Quantitative Literacy), submit the appropriate Suffix Requirement form (See Proposal Forms).
Deadline for submission of non-AGES courses (non-FYI courses, and courses without suffixes or LC or LP designations): noon on Friday of the first week of the term preceding the term the course will be offered.
All non-FYI courses must be submitted using the Recommendation to Add a Course form under the “New Course Proposal Form” heading. Those seeking further designations need additional form submissions (See Proposal Forms). Submissions will be routed automatically to the appropriate committee.
