Your syllabus must be sufficiently detailed to allow EPC to understand the topics to be covered, their likely order and weighting, the likely teaching methods and materials. It should include a detailed daily list of classroom activities/subject matter/reading and homework assignments. It must contain a clearly stated course purpose, learning goals and outcomes, and means of assessing whether those outcomes have been met. Pay attention to the appropriateness of the workload/ course level with respect to the number of total pages read and written, homework assignments and quizzes/exams. Please make the job of GenEd, EPC and Senate members easier; the more information you give us, the more likely your submission will be successful (a terse and incomplete syllabus is the most common reason for a delay in obtaining EPC approval, as these tabled syllabi will be returned to the instructor for revision).
