Swanson Commons
1010 38th St.
Swanson Commons, our newest residence hall, opened in August 2006. Swanson is divided into two wings and houses 239 students in a community environment. One wing features TLA-style apartments for juniors, while the other wing houses first-year students in two-bedroom suites connected by a shared bathroom.
Swanson has all the latest in student comforts, including a snack bar, large community gathering areas and small study lounges. In addition to the traditional wired internet connections, the entire hall is covered by wireless internet access. As the lower-campus residential hub, Swanson offers extended service desk hours, from 12:00 noon - 5:00 a.m. daily.
Swanson is located just minutes away from the quad, next to Andreen Hall and across the street from Lincoln Park.
Who can live here: First-year students and juniors
Rooms in Swanson are considered "premium" rooms and will cost 15% more than a traditional residence hall room.
