New Faculty Support

The New Faculty Orientation Program begins approximately one week before the start of the fall term. The program provides an introduction to the college and its various areas and divisions. Information on benefits and heath insurance is also included within the program.

The New Faculty Teaching Circle meets approximately once per month to discuss issues related to teaching and learning. Meeting agendas include topics such as reaching the typical Augustana student, improving a course syllabus, evaluating writing assignments, fostering critical thinking, preparing for pre-tenure and tenure evaluation, or discussing case studies. New faculty are also assigned Center for the Study of Teaching and Learning faculty mentors during their first year.
