Tomerlin headed to national AAUW conference

The local chapter of the American Association of University Women is sending Augustana sophomore Natalie Tomerlin to the AAUW's National Conference for College Women Student Leaders next month, where Chelsea Clinton will be the featured speaker.
The conference will be held in College Park, Md., from June 5-7. Tomerlin's registration is sponsored by the local AAUW, while transportation costs will be covered by the college's women's and gender studies program.
The conference is an annual event that draws students from across the country. It features workshops, speakers, activities in Washington, D.C., and a graduate school/career fair.
Tomerlin '16 is a double major in communication sciences and disorders and communication studies, and she is pursuing the new Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Development. Tomerlin is also a member of the women's basketball team, having come from Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Ill. She is a member of Sigma Delta Pi.
