April 29, 2014
Jared Johnson has been named director of corporate support, partnerships and marketing for WVIK 90.3 FM, Quad-Cities NPR. Johnson will join the staff at WVIK on May 12 after eight years with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) as director of marketing. His responsibilities at WVIK will include managing the radio station's corporate underwriting and marketing programs.
"Jared has an excellent record of service at the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. He is deeply involved in the community," said Jay Pearce, CEO of WVIK.
While at the QCSO, Johnson increased subscription ticket sales by 20 percent, sold out various symphony performances and collaborated on several projects with Augustana and WVIK.
"Jared's knowledge of WVIK through our partnership with the QCSO make him a natural fit for us," added Pearce.
After growing up in the Quad Cities and attending United Township High School, Johnson graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, where he studied communications. He returned to the Quad Cities in 2006.
"I'm very grateful to all my friends and colleagues at the QCSO for the eight years we spent together." said Johnson. "I'm looking forward to many more accomplishments and exciting experiences with my friends and new colleagues at WVIK and Augustana College."
