'Early bird' pricing for 'Something's Afoot' through April 27
April 16, 2014
"Early bird" tickets to the spring musical "Something's Afoot" are $10 until April 28, when prices will increase to $14 for the public and $12 for senior citizens, students, children and faculty/staff.
The Augustana Department of Theatre Arts Department will present the murder mystery musical in conjunction with Opera @ Augustana.
"Something's Afoot" takes a satirical poke at Agatha Christie mysteries and musical styles of the English music hall of the 1930s. Ten people are stranded in an isolated English country house during a raging thunderstorm. One by one they're picked off by cleverly fiendish devices. As the bodies pile up in the library, the survivors frantically race to uncover the identity and motivation of the cunning culprit.
The production is directed by theatre Professor Jeff Coussens, with musical direction by music Professor John Pfautz. Book, music and lyrics are by James McDonald, David Vos and Robert Gerlach; additional music by Ed Linderman.
Performances will take place in Potter Theatre, Bergendoff Hall. Dates are 7:30 p.m. May 2-3 and 9-10, and 1:30 p.m. May 4 and 11.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.augustana.edu/tickets, by phone at 309-794-7306, or in person at the Ticket Office backstage of Centennial Hall.
