A cappella group to perform on March 29
February 11, 2014
Swearing off instruments, the 2012 National Harmony Sweepstakes champions Six Appeal uses a cappella singing to span decades of classic oldies, current chart-toppers and catchy original tunes. Six Appeal will perform on Saturday, March 29, at 8 p.m. in Augustana’s Centennial Hall (3703 7th Ave.). The ticketed event is open to the public.
Six Appeal began as a collegiate hobby. Beginning in 2006, the founding members decided to start singing together at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. Within a year, they were performing concerts around campus. Within two years, they won their first a cappella competition. After three years, they began touring in the Midwest and giving clinics for high schools. In 2010, Six Appeal moved its home base to Minneapolis and began touring the country.
With members formally instructed in singing and musical composition, and more than 70 combined years of musical training and experience, Six Appeal utilizes a diverse arsenal of style and entertainment.
General public tickets cost $10. Tickets are available at the Augustana Ticket Office, 3703 7th Ave., Rock Island, during regular business hours. Or they can be charged by phone at (309) 794-7306 or purchased online. Admission for Augustana students and faculty/staff with an ID is free.
