Christian Mortenson, Augustana adjunct professor of art, is exhibiting his photography through Nov. 8 at the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery at Mount Mercy University, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He will lecture on his work at 4 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Lundy 3 room, then there will be a closing reception from 5-7 p.m.

The gallery is open from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located in lower McAuley Hall (map.

Mortenson is an artist and educator living in Iowa City, Iowa. His work is concerned with how society engages with the natural world through imagery, definition and experience. His collections capture views of scenic, rural areas of the country as well as thought-provoking compositions of cityscapes.

He received a master of fine arts from the University of Iowa and teaches photography at Augustana and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
