Woolsey '04 to offer an oboe recital, workshop

Augustana College will host oboist Dr. Katherine Woolsey '04 in a free public workshop at 6:45 p.m. and recital at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, in Wallenberg Hall (3520 7th Ave.), inside the Denkmann Memorial Building.
Dr. Woolsey is instructor of oboe at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and owner and operator of Fountain City Reed Company. She currently is principal oboe and R.L. Onikul Foundation Chair of the Kinnor Philharmonic in Kansas City, and recently performed at the 42nd Annual International Double Reed Society Conference.
Dr. Woolsey earned a B.A. in oboe performance from Augustana College, a M.M. in oboe performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a D.M. and Certificate in College Teaching from The Florida State University. Her primary teachers have included Cynthia Lambrecht of Augustana's music department, Ashley Barret, Mark Ostoich and Eric Ohlsson.
The recital will include a variety of works with an emphasis on the 20th century.
