College sells bricks for Knowlton Athletic Complex
June 05, 2013
Augustana is selling bricks for the college’s new football stadium complex, the Austin E. Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex. Brick options range in price from $250–$750, and orders received by June 30, will be in place for the first game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m.
“Many Augustana football fans and former players have asked how they can be part of this legacy,” said Scott Park, assistant vice president for advancement. “Buying a brick gives individuals, families and others a way to show their commitment to the college … and be a part of the proud and winning tradition of Augustana football.”
Park noted the bricks offer a way to honor a graduate, memorialize a loved one or recognize a reunion year, and “if you itemize on your income tax return, may be tax deductible.”
The smallest brick option, for $250, will hold up to three lines of text, with 10 characters per line. The mid-sized option costs $500, and it will hold up to four lines of text, with 15 characters per line. The largest option costs $750, and it will hold up to six lines of text, with 20 characters per line.
The complex will be named in honor of the late philanthropist who founded the Knowlton Foundation, and the centerpiece of the complex — the Charles D. Lindberg Grandstand and Stadium — honors the 1950 alumnus who served on the Augustana Board of Trustees for 25 years. The complex also includes the Ken Anderson Academic All-America Club.
