Vikings 21st at Illinois Wesleyan Invitational

Sophomore Jake Groselak was the top finisher for Augustana at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational with a two-day score of 163. He shot 81 on Friday and 82 on Saturday at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

NORMAL, Ill. - The Augustana men's golf team participated in the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. The Vikings placed in a tie for 21st in the 26 team tournament with a two-day score of 689, shooting 325 on Friday and 354 on Saturday.

Host Illinois Wesleyan and Wheaton tied for the tournament championship with identical 36-hole scores of 611 as the Titans went 298 and 313 while the Thunder recorded rounds of 297 and 314. Wittenberg at 612 (293 + 319), Millikin at 613 (299 + 314) and Carthage at 623 (303 + 320) rounded out the top five in the team scoring.  

Sophomore Jake Groselak (Lemont HS, Lemont, Ill.) was the top finisher for Augustana with a score of 163 (81 + 82) and a tie for 63rd place in the individual standings. Freshman David Ferlmann (Peoria Notre Dame HS, Dunlap, Ill.) was next for the Vikings with a 171 (84 + 87). Sophomore Max Channon (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS, Wheaton, Ill.) shot 176 (83 + 93) and sophomore Josh Kukla (Zion-Benton HS, Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) recorded a 179 (87 + 92). Sophomore Grant Murphy (Dunlap HS, Peoria, Ill.) was the final finisher for Augustana with a 186 (87 + 99).  

Augustana will be in action next on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 when the Vikings host the Augustana Invitational at Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, Illinois.
