FRANCIS

FRANCIS is a multilingual, multidisciplinary database covering the humanities and social sciences, including archaeology, mathematics, linguistics, philosophy, religion, and sociology.

JSTOR Journal Archive

JSTOR includes full-text, pdf format journals covering all aspects of the sciences. For each journal, articles from the first volume through to two to five years before today's date are available. Here's why.

MathSciNet

MathSciNet, a database of reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences. This database contains over 2 million items and over 700,000 direct links to original articles.

Social Explorer

Social Explorer provides quick and easy access to current and historical census data from 1790 to 2010 and a wide variety of demographic information. The easy-to-use web interface lets users create maps and reports to illustrate, analyze, and understand demography and social change. To get started, click on the "Take a Tour" link and read through all the options for data retrieval and manipulation possible. At the end of the tour is the link to getting into the database. It will ask you to create an account, but this only takes a minute.

National Center for Education Statistics: Annual Reports

General Science Abstracts

Designed for students and non-specialists, GenSciAbs offers indexing and abstracts for 265 of the leading science journals and magazines from the US and Great Britain. General Science Abstracts database contains indexing from the 1984 to the present.

PROLA

Physical Review Online Archive (PROLA) from the American Physical Society provides full text, fully searchable archive for physics. It includes Physical Review Letters, Physical Review Series I-III A-E, Review of Modern Physics, and Physical Review Special Topics. Current subscriptions to Review of Modern Physics can be reached by selecting title in PROLA.

ScienceDirect COLLEGE EDITION -- new link

The Science Direct journal sets are comprised of 1800 journals with full text access beginning in 1995 through the current edition.The databases are searched simultaneously. To focus only on journals we can access, choose the top tab titled Journals and also change All Journals to Subscribed Journals in the Source search box.

SciFinder provides researchers unlimited access to the world’s largest and most reliable collection of chemistry and related science information. If you are a first time user, use the link above to register and set up an account. If you already have a SciFinder username and password, go directly to the Scifinder site here. It will ask for your username and password. If you run into trouble with a Scifinder account set up with a different institution's email account, it may be necessary to create a new account with your Augustana email so this IP address is recognized.

Astrophysics Data System

The Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a NASA-funded project which maintains three bibliographic databases containing more than 5.6 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and arXiv e-prints.
