Fiber Frenzy: The Art of Weaving

Rowen Schussheim-Anderson teaches in the Augustana College Art Department where she also directs Kaleidoscope, Augustana’s children’s art program. She has also taught at Arizona State University and the Smithsonian.

The Fiber Arts Design Book and 1,000 Artisan Textiles are books in which her work has been published most recently and she exhibits her work internationally. She has taught hundreds of students to weave and many caught “the fiber frenzy” and continued to explore fiber art long after the class was over.

Program dates: June 23-26, 2013

Program cost: $450

Includes lodging, all meals and any field trips. Students arrive on campus Sunday, June 23, and depart Wednesday, June 26.

Course description

During this course you will explore your creative expression through fiber art! Learn how to weave! You will learn how to set up the warp on a floor loom and weave a tapestry sampler of many Navajo techniques. Explore your creative side!
