The Upright Citizens Brigade to on Jan. 26

January  08, 2013

The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company will bring the best comedians from its theatres in New York City and Los Angeles to Augustana for an improv show on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. in Centennial Hall (3703 7th Ave.).

The UCB TourCo show lasts approximately 90 minutes and consists of two hilarious halves of fresh longform improvisation. Longform improv consists of making scenes up as you go, and requires each performer to trust the others to create a successful storyline to entertain the audience.

The UCB Theatre has helped develop comedy greats like Horatio Sanz, Amy Poehler, Rob Corddry, Ed Helms and The Daily Show’s Rob Riggle. UCB Theatre cast members also have appeared on Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, MadTV, VH1’s Best Week Ever, Adult Swim and 30 Rock.

General public tickets cost $10. Tickets are available at the Augustana Ticket Office (3703 7th Ave, Rock Island) during regular business hours. Or they can be charged by phone at (309) 794-7306 or purchased online at www.augustana.edu/tickets. Admission for Augustana faculty/staff with an ID (limit of four) and Augustana students with an ID (limit of one) are free.
