Vikings remain 13th in NCAA poll

For the second straight week, the Augustana men's cross country team is ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III national poll.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Despite a very impressive victory against a stout field at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday, September 21 in Rock Island, Illinois, the Augustana men's cross country team remains 13th in the NCAA Division III national poll this week. This is the second straight week that veteran head coach Paul Olsen's team is ranked 13th .

The Vikings are one of seven teams from the Midwest Region ranked in the top 20 in the nation in the most recent poll, which is conducted by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association. North Central still holds the top spot with Washington (third), Wheaton (seventh), Wisconsin-LaCrosse (10th), Augustana (13th), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (16th) and Chicago (20th) giving the region a strong showing on the national scene.

Augustana is off from competition this week. The Vikings will return to action on Saturday, October 6 when they travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to participate in the Pre Nationals Invitational.
