Student Athlete Profile
Jenna Richardson, '10
This sophomore and tennis standout competes on a higher level, leading the Vikings in winning streaks while participating in campus organizations and demonstrating academic success. A tennis player with MVP status and a knack for winning streaks, Jenna Richardson has been getting results from her hard work and effort on and off the court. Leading the Vikings with 18 singles wins as a freshman, Richardson has honed her talents since high school to become a standout student-athlete.
Organization and time management are key for Richardson, who balances athletics and academics with several extra curricular activities available at Augustana, including Alpha Phi Omega, Black Student Union, The Majestic Hearts and the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. But her packed schedule does not stop Richardson from performing in the classroom, as she says her parents have kept her balanced and strengthened her value of education.
With third and fourth place finishes at the CCIW championships in the number two doubles flight and the number two singles flight, Richardson has made a strong showing for her team and established herself as a competitor. In the future, Richardson dreams of becoming a physical therapist or an athletic trainer and is considering graduate school.
