The Second City makes you laugh all night

Augustana College will host Chicago's legendary sketch comedy theatre, The Second City, in Laughing Matters on Saturday, September 8, at 8 p.m. in Centennial Hall (3703 7th Ave.). The show is open to the public.
After 50 years of delivering the best in Chicago-style comedy, The Second City hits the road with a show sure to bring plenty of laughs with topics such as the economic uncertainty and the political gridlock, to skits about the Khardashians. The Second City covers it all with an original spin
"The entire recent tradition of American satire can be summed up in three words: The Second City," according to The New York Times. With scripted and improvisational elements, audiences enjoy being part of the show and playing along with the next generation of unforgettable comedians. The Second City's alumni list reads like a who's who of American comedy, as it includes: John Belushi, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Tim Meadows, Steve Carell, Tina Fey and countless others.
General public tickets cost $10. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Augustana Ticket Office, 3703 7th Ave., Rock Island, starting Monday, August 13. Or they can be charged by phone at (309) 794-7306 or purchased online at augustana.edu/tickets. Tickets may be picked up at the ticket office. Admission for Augustana faculty/staff with an ID (limit of four persons with each ID) and Augustana students with an ID (limit of one person with each ID) is free.
