Student Athlete Profile
Meghan Voiland '07
Biology and Pre-Physical Therapy Major, Psychology Minor
As the Student Athlete Advisory Council's Athlete of the Year and a former captain of the Augustana women's track & field team, 2007 graduate Meghan Voiland finished her career at Augustana as one of the most decorated student athletes in the history of the college. The SAAC award, presented to the most deserving senior female athlete this year, is one of the many prestigious nods Voiland received during her impressive career on the Augustana women's track & field team.
Named Most Valuable Player all four years at Augustana, Voiland learned about winning and losing in serious competition early on, but also learned to have fun. She attributes her remarkable success to the supportive community within Augustana, including her teammates, coaches, and professors, who encouraged her to exceed as a student athlete and made it possible for her to juggle schoolwork with time devoted to practices and meets.
In addition to her many contributions to the track team, Voiland participated in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, was a member of the academic honors societies Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa, and performed volunteer work in the community. In the Fall, Voiland will begin a three year physical therapy program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and plans to pursue work with athletes or in rehabilitation.
