2011-12 Season - Women's lacrosse leads NCAA in four categories

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The high-scoring offense displayed by Augustana in its first year of varsity women's lacrosse has the Vikings on top of NCAA Division III in four statistical categories. Head coach Sara Tisdale's team has won eight in a row and is 14-3 overall with just one match remaining.
The Vikings lead NCAA Division III in total points (327 goals and 153 assists) with 480 and in scoring offense at 19.2 goals per game. In addition, freshman Hilary Kargl (Sacred Heart Academy, Louisville, Ky.) continues to lead the nation in goals scored with 91 and she is also top in total points with 111 (91 goals and 20 assists). She is fourth in goals per game with a 5.35 per-game-average and eight in points per game at 6.53.
Augustana is second in caused turnovers with an average of 13.76 per game and third in scoring margin at 11.12 (19.24 goals-for and 8.12 goals-against). The Vikings are also 17th in draw controls with an average of 16.1 per game.
Besides Kargl, several other Augustana players are high in individual statistical categories. Freshman Sarah Osier (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) is 20th in goals-against-average at 8.35 with 137 goals allowed in nearly 1000 minutes of action. She is also 35th in save percentage at .484 and 36th in saves with 128.
Freshman Christina Letmanski (Glenbard West HS, Wheaton, Ill.) is 32nd in goals with 54 and freshman Hannah Dickman (Stillwater HS, Stillwater, Minn.) is 63rd with 46. Dickman is 16th in assists with 34 and 22nd in total points with 80 (46 goals and 34 assists).
The team's season finale will be at North Central on April 25.
