2012 Season - Home opener delayed one week

Jim Sandberg and his Augustana teammates will have to wait a little longer to open the home portion of the 2012 baseball season. Illness on the Monmouth team has forced the postponement of the Vikings scheduled game with Scots on Wednesday, March 21. The game will now be played on Wednesday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.-Augustana, which just jumped to 24th in the first NCAA Division III national poll, will have to wait a little longer to open the home portion of the 2012 season. Because of an illness contracted in Florida by the Monmouth team, the Vikings scheduled home opener against the Scots has been postponed.

Instead of being played on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m., the game has been moved to Wednesday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field.

Augustana is currently 11-2 on the season after sweeping four games in Florida this past weekend, outscoring its opponents 47-7 in the process. Greg Wallace's team is currently working on a nine-game winning streak.

The Vikings will now open the home season on Sunday, March 25 against Aurora at 1:00 p.m.
