2012 Season - Schnitzler breaks own school record

Sophomore Johanna Schnitzler broke her own school record in the pentathlon Friday, scoring 2,734 points at the Wartburg Select Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.

WAVERLY, Iowa - Augustana sophomore Johanna Schnitzler (Downers Grove South HS, Woodridge, Ill.) broke her own school record in the pentathlon on Friday, January 27 at the Wartburg Select Invitational. Schnitzler scored 2,734 points and broke her existing mark of 2,695 which was set on February 26, 2011 at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championship in Bloomington, Illinois.

Schnitzler placed third on Friday in the pentathlon, which was the first day of competition at the Wartburg Select Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The rest of the meet will be held on Saturday, January 28.

Schnitzler started her day by running :10.10 in the 60 hurdles and garnering 693 points. She jumped 1.44 meters in the high jump for 555 points, tying for first in the event. She tossed the shot 7.84 meters for 389 points and long jumped 4.42 meters for 408 points. She finished by winning the 800 with a time of 2:30.34.

Camesha Goods of Wartburg won the event with 3,003 points while Rebecca Nelson of NCAA Division II Truman State placed second with 2,925 points.
