Sophomore Aaron Holt was named the "Swimmer of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin for the second time this season. He won two events at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, November 19 in Bloomington, Illinois.

For the second time this year Augustana freshman Aaron Holt (Mount Vernon Township HS, Mount Vernon, Ill.) has been named the “Swimmer of the Week” in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. He won two individual events at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, November 19 in Bloomington, Illinois to lead the Vikings to the team title.

Holt won the 200 individual medley in 2:01.04 and the 100 butterfly in :54.58. He also placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of :54.48 and he swam the leadoff leg on the second place 200 medley relay team which clocked 1:42.79.

Thanks in large part to Holt’s heroics, Augustana won the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational with 142 points, beating host Illinois Wesleyan by six points. Principia (67), Millikin (50), Illinois College (40) and Eureka (36) rounded out the field.

Holt won the CCIW “Swimmer of the Week” honor back on November 1 after he opened his collegiate career by winning three events as Augustana defeated Millikin 157-40 on October 29 in the Carver PE Center Pool.

So far this season Holt has the fastest time on the team in three individual events, 100 butterfly (:54.58), 100 backstroke (:54.48) and 200 individual medley (2;01.04).

Aaron is the son of Jeffery and Lori Holt of Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
