Dodds recently wrapped up a four year career for Scott Mejia’s Vikings. She finished her four-year stint in an Augustana uniform by scoring a total of 22 goals, putting her in a ninth place tie on the school’s career list. She also totaled six career assists and her 48 total points puts her 10th on that all-time list.
She broke into the Augustana lineup with a bang in 2008 when she scored a team high 11 goals as a freshman. She had two assists as well that year and was a second team all-conference selection in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.
This past season, with the Vikings finishing 11-8-1 and advancing to the semi-final round of the CCIW tournament, Dodds scored two goals and had an assist. During her career she helped Augustana compile a 59-16-7 overall record for a winning percentage of .762. She was a member of two Viking teams (2009 & 2010) that advanced to the NCAA Division III national tournament.
Dodds is an accounting and business administration major and carries a grade point average of 3.879. She is a member of the Mortar Board National Honor Society and has been an active volunteer in the Quad City community throughout her years at Augustana. Since January of 2010, Dodds has helped prepare tax returns for low-income people. She also completed an internship with RSM McGladrey in Davenport Iowa in August of 2011.
She has a minor in Spanish and spent the summer of 2010 studying in Salamanca, Spain and in February of this year she will go to Granada, Spain with the ISA Study Abroad Program.
Augustana has long been a leader in producing Academic All-Americans under the program, which is run by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Vikings rank sixth all-time with 135 Academic All-Americans since the program began in 1952. Augustana is second in NCAA Division III, trailing only Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dodds is the daughter of Joe and Diane Dodds of Marion, Iowa. She will now advance to the national ballot along with the first team selections from seven other districts in NCAA Division III.
