2011 Season - Fidlow named "Player of the Week" in CCIW
|Senior Sean Fidlow was selected as the "Offensive Player of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin after recording two assists and a goal last week for the 10-3 Vikings.|
Augustana senior forward Sean Fidlow (Carmel Catholic HS, Gurnee, Ill.) helped lead the offensive attack for the Vikings last week. Fidlow was instrumental in helping Augustana to two victories last week and for his effort he was rewarded as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin “Offensive Player of the Week” in men’s soccer.
Fidlow and the Vikings started the week with a 3-0 victory against Principia on October 4. Fidlow assisted on two of the game’s three goals. That victory moved Augustana’s record to 9-3 on the season.
Fidlow and the Vikings’ offense didn’t let up in their CCIW battle against Millikin on October 8. Fidlow scored the game’s first goal on the way to a 2-0 Augustana victory. That victory pushed the Vikings’ win total to double digits for the season as the now sport a 10-3 overall record and a 1-1 record in CCIW play.
Fidlow leads the NCAA Division III Central Region’s eighth ranked team in scoring with eight goals and five assists, giving him a total of 21 points on the year. Fidlow leads the Vikings in game winning goals with three. Last season, he was named second team all-CCIW when he recorded five goals and four assists for a team high 14 points. He was also named the team’s “Best Offensive Player” last year.
Sean, a finance and accounting major, is the son of Scott Fidlow of Palatine, Illinois and Susan Fidlow of Gurnee, Illinois.
