Greetings from the Center for Teaching & Learning.
Welcome back! I hope the summer treated you well and that, like me, you're looking forward to the year with excitement (and a little bit of nervousness!).
There are two big initiatives that will be occupying much of my time this year, as director of ACTL. Mark Salisbury and I will be doing all we can to support individuals and departments as we learn to use the IDEA Center SRI to full advantage. Shawn Beattie, Virginia Johnson and I (as well as many others) hope to do all we can to support and encourage members of our community as we explore the use of electronic portfolios, both course eportfolios as well as collegiate-level learning eportfolios.
But more importantly, what are your priorities for improving our teaching and learning this year? For that, let me take one more opportunity to ask you to be sure to fill out the Faculty Needs Assessment survey. It really is important to us as we plan to make decisions and allocate (precious) resources in the coming year. Thanks, if you've already taken the time to fill it out or in advance if you haven't yet!
I look forward to working with you this year.
