Monday, August 20
7:00 a.m: Classes Begin6:00 p.m: Computer Basics Seminar: Groups 1 - 14 [Olin Auditorium]
This meeting is required for students who wish to be connected to the Augustana network. Sessions for other advising groups are scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday.
9:00 p.m: OSA Late Night Committee - Capture the Flag
[Lower Campus Quad - Meet at Tredway Library stairs to form teams]
Capture the Flag (CTF) is a traditional outdoor sport played where two teams each have a flag and the objective is to capture the other team's flag, located at the team's "base," and bring it safely back to their own base. Enemy players can be "tagged" by players in their home territory; these players are then, "in jail" and can only be released to continue play if members of their own team locate the location of the secret jail and tag jailed teammates for release and continued play in the game. Prizes will be awarded!

8:00 p.m: OSA Live on Campus Committee - “Jamie Lono” [Brew by Slough]
Somewhere in between today's Blues scene and Acoustic coffee shops grows an artist named Jamie Lono. Jamie shows you soul that the world hasn't seen in a while. Occasionally accompanied by Guitarist Danny Dancel, their presence and energy on stage is undeniable. Building his style around Acoustic sing - a - longs to Rough blues from the 1950's, Jamie Lono gives you a style of music you've never heard before, a style he likes to call the Hawaiian Blues.

9:00 p.m: OSA Movies Committee - Outdoor Movie “What to Expect when you’re Expecting” [Upper Quad]
Enjoy with your new peers a film on the big screen under the stars! This romantic comedy is a modern look at love through the eyes of five interconnected couples experiencing the thrills and surprises of having a baby, and ultimately coming to understand the universal truth that no matter what you plan for, life doesn’t always deliver what’s expected.

9:00 p.m: OSA Comedy Club - “Grant Lyon” [Wilson Center]
San Francisco Weekly describes Grant Lyon as “a hilariously sharp observer, not one of those tired white - guy bellyachers.” Born in Los Angeles, taken to Chicago for middle school, high school in Sacramento, college in Santa Cruz, Grant has been around. He is a practitioner of sophisticated immaturity - his comedy blends intelligent wit with pure silliness all while maintaining a relaxed surfer - dude personality. A history major in college, his infatuation with this nation’s past and present stand out throughout his show.

This romantic comedy is a modern look at love through the eyes of five interconnected couples experiencing the thrills and surprises of having a baby, and ultimately coming to understand the universal truth that no matter what you plan for, life doesn’t always deliver what’s expected.

8:00 p.m: OSA Special Events - “Dueling Pianos International” [Centennial Hall]
Dueling Pianos is a type of entertainment in which 2 grand pianos are put on stage and professional pianists perform and entertain the audience through comedy and sing along songs. They will be performing many top hits and will be taking audience requests. Come and enjoy a night full of pianos, laughing and fun.

6:00 p.m: Multicultural Programming Board (MPB) - “Salsabrosa BBQ & Cultural Festival” [Lower Quad]
Support our kick - off to Latino Heritage Month! Salsabrosa , led by Grammy - nominated Cuban pianist/vocalist, Viviana Pintado and international Cuban conga player Frank Rivery, leaves a “Havana Hot Buzz” wherever it plays. Salsabrosa’s explosive Afro - Cuban rhythms, mesmerizing vocal harmonies, and riveting horn solos make even the shyest audiences want to get up and dance.
