2013 MEN'S TRACK & FIELD OUTDOOR REVIEWA second-place finish by Augustana's 4x400 relay team at the 2013 NCAA Division III Championships capped off the outdoor season for Coach Paul Olsen's track & field team. The 4x100 relay also earned All-America status, as did senior Alex Rindone in the 400 and sophomore David Voland in the 400 hurdles. The Vikings finished in 18th place as a team. Rindone also won two individual events and anchored a pair of winning relays at the CCIW Championships, earning Track Athlete of the Meet honors. | |
Four Vikings grab Academic All-District recognitionAugustana dominated the selections on the Capital One Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District Team that was announced today. Four Vikings were among the 10 first team honorees in District Seven, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. The Capital One Academic All-District team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). | |

1600 relay narrowly misses winning NCAA titleThe final day of competition at the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track & Field Championships was a productive one for Augustana on Saturday, May 25 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Vikings grabbed a total of 10 All-American certificates (top eight finishers), including a near miss for a national title in the men's 1600 relay and finished 18th in the team standings. | |
Rindone makes finals in 400Senior Alex Rindone qualified for the finals in the 400 at the second day of competition in the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 24 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It was a light day of action for Augustana as the Vikings had just three competitors in action at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. |
