Palmer clinches victory over Wabash

Will Palmer rallied for a three set victory at No. 2 singles, clinching a 5-4 victory for the Augustana men's tennis team over Wabash on Saturday, February 6 at the Quad City Tennis Club in Moline, Illinois. The Vikings trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches before fighting back for the narrow win. The Blue & Gold faced UW-La Crosse in the afternoon and were unable to overcome another 2-1 deficit in doubles, falling 6-3 to the Eagles. Augustana is 4-2 overall this season.

Augustana 800 relay team wins at Whitewater

The Augustana 4x200 relay team of Cat Foreman, Ainsley Fedler, Brittney Bennett and Valerie Bach ran a 1:49.72 to win the event at UW-Whitewater's Warhawk Classic Saturday in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Vikings totaled 34 points to capture seventh place in the nine team field. Winona State was the meet winner with 134.5 points.

Vikings drop road game against Carthage

The Augustana women's basketball team fell 80-35 to Carthage on Saturday, February 6 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Vikings struggled to score while the Lady Reds caught fire in the second half on the way to a lopsided victory. The Blue & Gold drop to 6-15 overall and 1-9 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.

An absolutely suffocating defense in the second half helped turn the tide as Augustana went on the road and handed 23rd ranked Carthage a 70-59 defeat in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 6. Earlier this season, on January 16, the Vikings had dropped a 69-64 home court decision to the Red Men.

The action was furious at the Warhawk Invitational on Friday, February 5 in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Augustana, ranked third in the latest NCAA Division III national indoor men's track & field poll, placed fifth in the eight team meet with 70 points.

Head coach Fred Whiteside's Augustana women's track & field team is ranked 15 th in the most recent NCAA Division III indoor power ranking of the 2010 season. The power ranking is sponsored by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and it encompasses the top two performances by each team in every event.
