Augustana sophomore leftfielder Laura Behnke has been rewarded for an outstanding season by being named first team all-Great Lakes Region. She was the unquestioned offensive leader for a Viking team that went 32-14, won the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament and placed third in the NCAA Division III Pella, Iowa Regional.
Augustana battled back from an early 5-0 deficit Saturday, but ultimately dropped a 9-6 decision to Concordia-Chicago, ending the Vikings' quest for their first NCAA regional championship. Coach Greg Wallace's 20th-ranked club finishes the year with a 34-11 record. The 19th-rated Cougars improved to 39-6 and advanced to the championship game, where they fell to Webster 7-3.
Senior Alex Rindone broke his own school record in the 400 in the Augustana Twilight Qualifier on Friday, May 17 at Paul V. Olsen Track. Rindone won with a time of :47.43 and he was pushed the whole way by fellow senior Greg Patton who took second in :47.72.

There were no team scores but the four individuals on the team who are heading to the national meet showed they are ready for the competition.
Behind five one-hit, shutout innings from freshman reliever Walter White, Augustana defeated Wartburg 9-3 Friday to advance to the final day of play at the NCAA regional at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field. The third-seeded Vikings (34-10) take on Concordia at noon on Saturday for the right to face Webster for the regional title at 3:30 p.m. Second-seeded Wartburg ends its season at 35-11.
Augustana took advantage of four Webster errors in the eighth inning Thursday, pushing across two runs to claim a 5-3 win on the second day of the NCAA regional at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field. The third-seeded Vikings (33-10) advance to play Wartburg in an elimination game on Friday at 3:30 p.m. The top seed Gorloks (33-10) face Adrian in a noon elimination game on Friday.
