2010-11 Season - Men's basketball seventh in attendance

Behind an energized student section, the Augustana men's basketball team attracted the seventh highest average attendance in the nation at the Division III level in 2010-11.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - In a season which saw it go 27-4, compiling the second most wins in school history, the Augustana men's basketball team drew the seventh-highest average attendance in the nation at the Division III level. The NCAA released its final attendance figures for 2010-11 this week with the Vikings attracting an average of 1,352 fans in 16 home dates, a figure that led the CCIW and ranked seventh nationally among 403 Division III institutions.

 Augustana's attendance average also surpassed those of 66 NCAA Division I programs.

 Hope College, which Augustana defeated in the second round of this year's NCAA tournament, led the nation with an average of 2,818 fans per home date. The College of Wooster was second at 2,016 and Hope's rival in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Calvin College, was third with an average of 1,792. Whitworth (1,470), Maryville (1,420) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point (1,419) rounded out the top six.

 Behind Hope and Calvin, the MIAA had the highest conference attendance with an average of 905 per game. Led by Augustana, the CCIW was next at 819 and Wooster's North Coast Athletic Conference was third with an average of 743 per contest.
