2010-11 Season - Scholten and Graham share MVP

Augustana freshmen Jacob Scholten (Rockford HS, Grandville, Mich.) and Jordan Graham (Big Rapids HS, Fremont, Mich.) were named co-Most Valuable Performers for the 2010-11 wrestling season. Scholten, a regular at 125 pounds, compiled a 38-8 record during his freshman year. He won the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin individual title at 125 pounds and qualified for the NCAA Division III national tournament by winning the NCAA Great Lakes Regional at the same weight class.
Graham finished third in the NCAA West Regional in the 165 pound weight class and qualified for the national meet as an “at-large” participant. Earlier in the year he won an individual title in the CCIW tournament. He closed his freshman campaign with a 32-15 overall record and was named to the D3wrestle.com NCAA Division III All-Freshman team.
Junior Alberto Quiros (Morton HS, Cicero, Ill.) was named the Hardest Working Wrestler. Senior Tim Day (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS, Wheaton, Ill.) and freshman Abraham Duran (East Aurora HS, Aurora, Ill.) shared the Most Improved Wrestler honor. Sophomore Hunter Feraco (Gull Lake HS, Battle Creek, Mich.) earned the Sacrifice Award.
Quiros compiled a record of 31-9 at 141 pounds and finished second in the CCIW. Day was 17-16 at 285 pounds, Duran was 2-7 overall, and Feraco had a 24-15 mark for the season. Day placed second in the CCIW and Feraco finished third.
Augustana was 9-6 in dual meets this year and placed third in the CCIW tournament with 63.5 points and seventh in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
