2011 Season - Vikings jump to 15th in NCAA baseball poll

Thanks to a quick 10-1 start, the Augustana baseball team soared to all the way to 15 th in the most recent NCAA Division III poll conducted by D3baseball.com. The Vikings were 26 th a week ago but four wins over the weekend on the team’s second spring trip to Florida precipitated a move up in the ranking.
Augustana’s only loss this season is a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wartburg on February 28 in Auburndale, Florida. This past weekend the Vikings won four games in three days in Fort Myers, Florida. They swept Wisconsin-Lutheran on Friday, March 18 by scores of 9-2 and 7-0, beat Otterbein 8-5 on Saturday, March 19 and finished the trip with a convincing 12-2 win over Carroll on Sunday, March 20.
Augustana will play two games this week, traveling to Monmouth on Thursday, March 24 before hosting Aurora on Sunday, March 27 in the home opener at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled game with Knox on Saturday, March 26 has been moved to Tuesday, April 26 in Galesburg, Illinois.
