2011 Season - Hottle in national 800 field

Senior Hannah Hottle has made the field in the 800 meters at this year's NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-Augustana senior Hannah Hottle (Monmouth-Roseville HS, Monmouth, Ill.) has made the field for the 800 meters at this year's NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. The 800-meter preliminaries will be run on Friday, March 11 with the final taking place on Saturday, March 12.

Hottle qualified for the field with a third-place 2:16.06 at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championship in Bloomington, Illinois on February 26. Only two Augustana athletes, Rachel Knapp and Maegan Harris, have ever run a better time indoors. Hottle qualified for nationals in the outdoor 800 last year.

A three-time academic all-conference performer, Hottle was Augustana's MVP for both the indoor and outdoor seasons as a junior and she's a two-time Most Valuable Runner for the Viking cross country team as well. She's a school record holder in two outdoor track events with an 11:30.95 in the 3000-meter steeplechase and having run a leg on Augustana's school-record (9:21.93) 4x800 relay team last year.
