2010-11 Season - Fox named to CCIW All-Conference Team

Kristen Fox was named to the CCIW all-conference team as a second team selection after leading the Vikings in several categories this past season. The was the top scorer at 14.0 points per game and also averaged 7.0 rebounds per contest.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Senior Kristen Fox (Ottawa HS, Ottawa, Ill.) was named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women’s basketball all-conference team for the 2010-11 season. She was selected by the CCIW coaches for the second team.

Fox finished her senior season with a 14.0 scoring average, leading the Vikings with 351 points in 25 games. She was a starter in every game this year and averaged a team leading 31.1 minutes per game. Fox made a significant contribution on the boards, leading the team with 176 rebounds, an average of 7.0 per contest. She compiled 133 on the defensive end to go along with 43 offensive rebounds, again leading the Blue & Gold in both categories. Fox was also the team leader in made field goals (130), made three point field goals (47), free throw percentage (72.1 percent), and steals (36). She was third on the team with 32 assists.

The senior finished her final week with a flourish, scoring a career-high 34 points to lead the Vikings to a road win against North Central in the second to last game of the season. Fox earned CCIW “Player of the Week” honors for this spectacular performance.

Fox scored in double figures in 19 of 25 games this season. Besides her 34 point effort against the Cardinals, Fox’s other two biggest scoring outputs came against Elmhurst. She tallied 22 points in a home loss in overtime in the first match-up and came back with 23 on the road in a double overtime victory in the rematch.

She snared double digit rebounds in six games during the year, including 13 rebound efforts at Aurora, Elmhurst, and North Central. Fox added a season-high four steals in home games against Robert Morris and Elmhurst.

Fox was joined on the second team by Lindsey Brenneman (Wheaton), Diana Jacklin (Carthage), Olivia Jett (Illinois Wesleyan), and Meghan Merklein (Elmhurst).

The Vikings finished 7-18 overall for the second straight season and also turned in a mark of 3-11 in the CCIW.
