2010-11 Season - Viking women finish fourth at CCIW meet

Freshman Hillary Ferguson finished eighth in the 100-yard freestyle Saturday, helping Augustana to a fourth-place team finish at the CCIW Championshiups in Wheaton, Ill.

WHEATON, Ill. - Freshman Hillary Ferguson (Waubonsie Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) had Augustana's best individual finish Saturday, taking eighth place in the 100-yard freestyle to help lead the Vikings to a fourth-place team finish at the CCIW Championships. Ferguson swam a :54.91 in the event.

 Ferguson also anchored the Viking 400-yard freestyle relay which took fifth place with a time of 3:44.03. Molly Clennon (Benet Academy, Naperville, Ill.) led off, followed by fellow sophomores Alexandra Piper (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) and Mary Naughton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.).

  Clennon and Piper joined Ferguson in placing in the 100 freestyle, finishing 10th and 15th respectively with times of :55.17 and :56.59.

 Sophomore Emma Regnier (Grayslake North HS, Lake Villa, Ill.) swam a 2:29.80 in the 200 butterfly to take 14th place. Freshman Elizabeth O'Hara (Westosha Central HS, Salem, Wis.) finished 15th in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:49.11 clocking and junior Colleen Mans (Robbinsdale Cooper HS, New Hope, Minn.) was 16th in the 200 backstroke, finishing in 2:34.06.
