Non-Augustana Programs
In addition to our own faculty-led international and off-campus programs, The Office of International and Off-Campus Programs can assist students who are interested in participating in non-Augustana programs. Students who wish to participate in a non-Augustana program must speak with Dr. Allen Bertsche. Dr. Bertsche and the IOP Office will assist students to find programs of high academic quality and transferable coursework.
It is required, as with any transfer credits, that students who participate in non-Augustana programs abroad must seek approval for transfered courses PRIOR TO departure for the international program. This often is a time-consuming process, requiring signatures from advisors and department chairs. It is important to discuss plans for a non-Augustana program with Dr. Bertsche as well as your academic advisor.
Students who do not consult with appropriate Augustana representatives prior to departure should be prepared for possible difficulties with the transfer of credits back to Augustana.
In recent years, Augustana College students have participated in the programs sponsored by:
AustraLearn - Australia and New Zealand
Cross Cultural Solutions (CCS) - multiple locations
Center for Cross-Cultural Studies (CC-CS) - Spain
Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) - multiple locations.
Institute for American Universities - Aix-en-Provence and Avignon, France .
Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) - multiple locations
Institute for Studies Abroad (ISA) - multiple locations
The Oxford Study Abroad Programme - Oxford, England, United Kingdom
