Social Cognition Laboratory
Dr. Mark Vincent
If you are an Augustana student and are interested in getting involved in research, please contact me at x7224 or send me email.
My lab is located in Rooms 305-306 on the 3rd floor of Sorensen Hall. The lab is equipped with 4 personal computers, Micro Experimental Lab (MEL), SPSS for Windows, and Microsoft Office software.
I am currently running experiments on the following topics:
- A social cognition approach to sexual harassment
- Testing subjects' ability to circumvent the Implicit Associations Test measure of prejudice
- Exploring stereotypes of welfare recipients and welfare-to-work program participants
- Examining emotional reactions to "out of gender role" members of occupations (e.g., men in feminine occupations, women in masculine occupations).
- Examining the role of imagery in the paradoxical effects of thought suppression
