2010-11 Season - Vikings drop 62-44 decision to North Park

Freshman Jessica Baids scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Augustana lost to North Park 62-44 in CCIW action on Thursday night in the Carver Center.

Augustana turned the ball over 23 times and shot just .316 from the field in a 62-44 loss at home to North Park on Wednesday, February 3. The game was close at halftime with the Vikings trailing their visitors from Chicago by just a basket (25-23). In the second half, however, North Park outscored Augustana 37-21 to sweep the season series.

The Vikings led 29-27 less than two minutes into the second half (18:08) after a basket by freshman Jessica Baids (West Chicago HS, Carol Stream, Ill.). North Park proceeded to go on a 28-8 run over the next 12 minutes and a free throw by Roxanne Jones made it 55-37 with 6:40 left to play. Eventually the lead would climb to 20 (60-40 at 3:42 and 62-42 at 2:14) before ending with an 18 point margin.

Baids led Augustana in scoring with 12 points on four of six from the floor and four of six from the free throw line. She also hauled in a team high seven rebounds and came up with a steal. Elizabeth Phillips (Grayslake North HS, Lake Villa, Ill.) was also in double figures with 10 points.

Jones was the lone North Park player in double figures as she led her team in scoring with 12 points.
Augustana fell to 5-15 overall and 1-8 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin while North Park went to 9-11 and 2-7.
