2011 Season - Baseball team draws votes in NCAA poll

The 2011 baseball season is still a month away but already Greg Wallace’s Augustana team is drawing some national recognition. The Vikings were among the “others receiving votes” in the NCAA Division III preseason poll conducted by D3baseball.com, it was announced today. Augustana pulled in eight votes.
Last year the Vikings finished with a 25-15 record in Wallace’s 13 th season at the helm of his alma mater’s baseball fortunes. Wallace has compiled a record of 381-177 (.683) in 13 years. Augustana returns 23 letter winners from a year ago and eight position players who can be classified as starters and six pitchers. The Vikings open the 2011 season on February 24 against Brandeis in Auburndale, Florida.
